A new mechanism of financial recovery for Belarus' struggling farming enterprises was discussed at a government session chaired by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 20 July, BelTA informs.

We need to talk over the development of efficient instruments to help struggling agricultural enterprises get back to business. In late 2017 the government was instructed to work out the regulations enabling agricultural organizations to access special financial recovery mode avoiding legal procedures, the head of state said.


Retirement pensions will be raised by an average of 10% in Belarus as from 1 August as a result of recalculation in line with the decree Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed on 17 July, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The decree provides for recalculating retirement pensions as from 1 August 2018 due to the growing average salary of working Belarusians by adjusting the actual earnings of pensioners bearing in mind the average salary used during the previous recalculation of pensions.


The harvest season has started in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 16 July, an estimated 124,600 hectares planted with cereals and leguminous crops were harvested, which is 5.9% of the sown area. This year's harvest season arrived in Belarus earlier than in the previous year.

Brest Oblast is currently leading having cropped 20.9% (68,700 hectares) of its planted areas.

Belarus and Russia will update the roadmap on lifting mutual restrictions from dairy trade in 2018, the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.
